SeaWorld Vacation and More

In early June we took a family getaway/road trip to San Antonio to take our soon to be 2 year old to SeaWorld. I found a great family resort just 2 miles from SeaWorld and it was beyond exceeded my expectations as you will see! One thing about coming home from vacation is the let down from being home. That and along with tons of pix makes a lazy blogger. Lazy? Did someone say lazy, as in the Lazy River!

What is a road trip without stopping to see the Beaver! Is it Buck-ees or Buc-see? Who came up with it anyway?
Our home away from home
Gotta love a clean bathroom

Already checking into room service but they had none. With a place like this, they can afford not to.
Love the rocking chair in the sitting area
Texas themed windmill, but not just a windmill, more in a minute.
This is us waking up early and going for a last run down the lazy river so that's why no one is around. We wanted to beat the crowd and also didn't want to leave!

Hubby doing his photog thing with these pix, such a beautiful place!
Sandy beach entry to the Lazy River, who needs the beach?
Pristine water, no oil spill here!

Okay, the windmill turned out to be a outdoor waterslide

Texas ranch style everywhere

Lovin' the Lazy River

Why would we ever need to leave?

There was also this
and this
But wouldn't you rather be here instead?
reading a good book or trashy magazine? What, MJ is still dead?

or doing this?

Beach entry was a big hit!

Trying to take a pic of the daughter
and thought this would be cute!

The keeper of her toys
Got a recommendation to try this restaurant right in the heart of San Antonio. Muy bueno!
What a pair they make!
Also known for their Mexican bakery...we didn't save room, next time!

Back on the ranch...we found a furry friend

We had to chase her down as she was chasing our furry friend because I think I read in the lobby not to chase critters if you see any on the grounds! Bless her heart, she can't read yet!
The smoke pit area

for making Smores of course!

Our smoky family pic

The only pic to show we were on The Riverwalk, and a bad one at that! Did we miss it? Not at all...when you have an exploring 2 year old!

We haven't even been to the Rainforest Cafe close to us in town because of the wait time, but felt the need to come visit one out of town.
By the time dinner arrived, it was 8:00 PM, her bed time! Oh well, it's vacay after all! Can you see the heavy eyelids? For heaven sakes, where are the toothpicks when you need them!

Day 1

Well, after much contemplation, we finally left our nice hotel and went to see The Whale. Must map out the route first!

Believe it!

Captive audience

Splash zone...we didn't feel like getting wet

Buh- bye Shamu & Baby Shamu, we'll be backkkkkk!

Happy camper

Day 2

Okay, once you've seen one whale, you've seen them all! Let's get back to the ranch, shall we?

Indoor aquarium

Souvenirs
Another friend recommended this joint....Yum to the tum!
Hubby approved
Picky Eater
My grilled Portobello and Avocado Veggie Burger, why was it still call a burger? Where's the beef???

Fearless daughter wanted to keep up with the big boys. Uhhhh... no!

This spacious outdoor patio reminded me of Clay's Restaurant in town

She even made a new friend
Fast friends
Watch out Mia Hamm...future soccer player, let's hope she will not rip her shirt off in the middle of the field....Daddy would not approve!
Needless to say, we had a blast and already bought Season Pass to return to visit the whale...and our little gem of a hotel! We met families that come just to stay at the hotel and not even go to SeaWorld. Can't say we blame them!

Thing 1 & Thing 2

In May we had the privilege of having one of our good friends, The Seales' son, Jonathan stay with us for 3 days while his parents were out of town. I call them Thing 1 and 2 since he and Caris are only 3 months apart. So it made it easy for us to apply the same routine for both. We had so much fun with a boy in the house!
Ready for the splash pad

They played well together
or alone
Daddy took over when he got home from work to give me a break
Feeding the neighborhood ducks
Aren't they the cutest 2 Things?

Did I mention they did everything together?

One thing I did notice was Mr. J is still sucking his thumb so, lo and behold, Caris started to do the same, hence the teething ring. Thus, their nicknames!

Veggie Tales and Barney fans
Our pleasure to have Mr. Jonathan stay with us. I love my Two Things!
