Christmas 09

As I make this post, I cannot believe Christmas was here and already gone! Just as the case with this past year....Is it really 2010? Not that I write checks that often but guess it's time to get used to writing 2010! This was the first Christmas that Caris really knew what's going on so it has been truly fun to see it through her eyes. It was also a transitional season for us literally. We moved from our temporary apartment into our new house the week before Christmas. So I decided to really focus on things that really mattered because of the time factor and really I didn't have a choice. But it was the best Christmas I've had in a while because I didn't put pressure on myself to shop, decorate, or had time to stressed out over anything. The only one thing I had time for was pack and move. So we opted to give Caris one gift, which was the nativity toy set. We told our families we weren't exchanging gifts this year and if they wanted to give Caris presents that was up to them. It was so refreshing to spend this time of the year making memories with Caris and spending time with family and friends who mean the most to us!

Let's get this partay on the road...

We made peppermint bark
Had fun with pretzel twisties
Gave away sweet treats for our families
We decorated the tree

A no smile Christmas ornament from Sunday school only a mom can love!
Our not so decorative tree this year...
...because of this reach and grab little person
Here is Caris jammin' out to Jingle Bells Rock...making memories for sure! (Please don't forget to pause the Playlist on the right in order to listen)

I've had all the fun I can take!

Our first attempt to take a pic on self timer
Our sleepy selves
She made it on the Cutie List
Daddy on Christmas Eve...the beginning of more toy assembling in future Christmases.
A pretty sight to wake up to from the grandparents

Coconut, from the American Girl collection.
Some bling!

Giraffe bicycle

Then we went to see our families
Again, no smile...but who's noticing?
Paw fist bump anyone?

A little leg action

Just what she wanted
We couldn't peel her away fast enough till Daddy can put it together.

Beep beep!...In her new ride with Coconut in tow.

We met with my two college buds and their families for dinner at Chuy's
We celebrated that two thousand years ago Jesus was born in a humble manger in Bethlehem.
Wise men...should still seek Him today.
The good news is ours to share!

So we baked him a Jesus size birthday cupcake!
And we were sure He probably is a fan of chocolate!
