So I have never known why my side of the family celebrates Chinese New Year since we're not Chinese. But all the Asian countries go by the lunar calendar so I guess it kinda sorta makes sense. Anyhoo, it's always off my radar and this year since it was on Valentine's weekend, I totally forgot about it until my mom reminded me of it. Really though growing up all the kids look forward to it only because they know what's coming...oh yeah, those red envelopes filled with mula! So of course the grandparents had to spoil Caris with that tradition. Here are some pics of Caris in her New Year's garb too!
