My Dad and stepmom (Ike and Geny Aquino) live in New Jersey and finally made it down here to Houston for a short visit. They have been planning this trip for a while but it had been nixed twice. The first time they planned the trip, the same weekend Hurricane Ike also decided to visit the Gulf Coast. Dad said he didn't want to meet his namesake hurricane. Couldn't blame him. Then the second time they planned the trip, there was the first outbreak of swine flu! So we got to spend a short visit with them last weekend. Dad is an architect and will be retiring next year so here's looking forward to more frequent and longer visits Grandpa!
All of us at a Vietnamese restaurant since I didn't know any Filipino restaurants in town. But we did discuss about all of us making a trip to Dad's home country in the Philippines one day.
