What a week it has been!!! All last week Caris' appetite was waning. She is also teething so I just thought it was that. Then toward Friday she literally stopped eating so to be sure it wasn't anything else I took her in to the doctor...Sure enough she had strep throat! My poor baby and her birthday party was the next day! As soon as we stopped by to get her meds after seeing the doctor, we immediately called everyone that we knew was coming that the party was postponed. Thankfully, I'm also on Facebook, so that's how we relayed the message to everyone else. By far, it was the worst 48 hours of my life! We have been absolutely spoiled by her being so healthy her first year that it kind of caught us by surprise. To see your child in pain and not being able to do anything has got to be the worst feeling in the world! Saturday night she woke up at 11:30PM and didn't go back to sleep until 2AM. Then the next day she was so lethargic that she didn't want to eat or drink anything. We had to make an emergency run into the after hours clinic. But right before we went she took a big nap then on the way to the doctor she took a big swig of milk so of course she was happy at the doctor's...go figure! So now she is slowly on her road to recovery. If that wasn't enough, she also contacted impetigo on her face from the strep infection! If only children will stick to our agenda! Thus, we are postponing her First Birthday Party to the 22nd to give her time to make a full recovery. You can skip any other birthday parties but not the first one!

bummer!!!! so sorry for that - and for the big 1st birthday! hope the next party date works out for you. justin hasn't had strep yet - i know it sucks!
