In Transition

Goodbye home sweet home
Our brand new lot for our new house, not to worry, there will me more pics later.  Hubby is there taking pics every day.

...instead of helping.

I've been putting off this post because for one, I've been busy packing, but the main reason is moving is always so very hard!  Moving is more than packing your physical belongings but also sentimental attachments and memories that go along with it.  Our current house has been our home since we've gotten married.  It was where Caris came home to and the only home she has ever known.  We have always known we would move some day in the future since it was hubby's starter home and bachelor pad.  That day has come and it has  been a mix of emotions.  Sad to leave the fond memories behind...but excited to build our first official home together and personally choosing everything we want in it from tiles to door knobs!

But I can't go on further without bragging about God's faithfulness.  I have to admit that oh me of little faith here thought we would have problems selling our current house.  Like I said, it was a bachelor pad for my husband before we got married.  Mind you, we've kept it in very good condition, but let's just say it lacked some amenities.  Husband decided to opt for the back porch instead of the separate shower and  garden tub!  Such frivolous necessity that is more common here in the South since people in the North or other parts could care less!  I know, since my Dad lives in New Jersey.  Our kitchen also was small with hardly any cabinet space.  And we had no yard space.   Good for mowing but not so good with a young toddler on the move.  Those were the negatives that I was looking at.  So I started secretly praying for a bachelor to buy our house and I think God with his sense of humor decided to humor me because that is exactly who is buying the house! A retired veteran and bachelor with a little help with the $8K incentive for first time buyer.  Praise God for calling me out on my lack of faith!  Hubby and I joked that the house will just be a rotating bachelor pad until someone decides to remodel it!  Better them than us.

We had put the house up for sale in the first week of June thinking that would give us plenty of time to have our new house built.  Well, it sold in eight weeks!  So now we're having to move into an apartment while waiting for our new house to be built.  There's never perfect timing with these things but I'm not complaining...God's timing is always perfect!  So our closing date is Septemeber 15th and so now we're in the middle of living with boxes and packing for two moves.  We are having to narrow down to the bare necessities for the apartment and storing the rest of our stuff for the new house.  Oh, and another praise, my father in law has volunteered his place to store all our stuff while we're in transition!  Can I just say how awesome God is!!! No one could have orchestrated all this except for Him who knows our every need and is always so faithful to meet us where we are at.  Thank you Lord!
